Government of Sindh Approves Creation of Superintendent Posts
The Government of Sindh, through the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department, has initiated the process to create new posts of Superintendents (BS-17) within the Sindh Secretariat. This decision aims to address a significant deficit in the current staffing structure.
Addressing the Need for BS-17 Superintendents
Currently, there are only 185 sanctioned posts of Superintendents (BS-17) across all administrative departments in the Sindh Secretariat. This is in contrast to 657 sanctioned positions for Assistants and Assistant Superintendents (BS-16). This imbalance hinders employee progression and operational efficiency, according to an official statement.
The Finance Department will consider the increase in sanctioned strength for these BS-17 Superintendent roles on a need basis. Departments are now requested to submit proposals for new BS-17 Superintendent positions. These submissions must include specific recommendations and justifications for the creation of these roles.
Justification for New BS-17 Posts
This initiative addresses the identified deficiency, ensuring better career pathways for Secretariat employees. It is expected that the creation of these BS-17 Superintendent posts will streamline administrative functions. SindhNews.com has been closely following developments in government employment.
The Chief Secretary, Sindh, has approved this measure. The move signals a commitment to improving the administrative framework within the Government of Sindh.
