Unions in Pakistan Speak Out Against US Move on Venezuela

US Aggression Against Venezuela Condemned as International Outcry Grows

Organizations in Pakistan have voiced strong condemnation against what they describe as ongoing armed aggression by the United States against Venezuela. A joint protest demonstration organized by the National Trade Union Federation Pakistan (NTUF) and the Home Based Women Workers Federation Pakistan (HBWWFP), alongside allied groups, expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people’s resistance.

Participants rallied against what they termed US “war hysteria,” carrying Venezuelan flags and portraits of the late President Hugo Chávez and the currently held President Nicolás Maduro. The protest underscored a growing international dissent against perceived US foreign policy interventions.

US Aggression Against Venezuela Sparks Calls for International Justice

Nasir Mansoor, NTUF General Secretary, denounced the actions as a “criminal war” following events in Gaza, calling the alleged abduction of President Maduro for opposing US influence “shameful and blatant terrorism.” Mansoor emphasized the working people of Pakistan’s support for Venezuela’s right to self-determination. This sentiment was echoed across various speaker.

Dr. Asghar Dashti, a progressive intellectual, characterized the actions as an attempt to establish a US-backed colonial order. He noted the historical pattern of US intervention in Latin America.

Comrade Zahra Khan, General Secretary of HBWWFP, highlighted this as a continuation of a “bloody” history of US intervention across the region, citing examples from Guatemala to Panama. This perspective, often discussed on platforms like SindhNews.com, frames current events within a broader historical context of perceived U.S. imperialism.

Condemnation of US Aggression Against Venezuela Continues

Labor leaders at the demonstration criticized Pakistan’s role in nominating President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, given the alleged crimes. They demanded an apology from Pakistani authorities to their own populace.

The gathered organizations issued a call for President Trump to face trial at the International Court of Justice for imposing war and allegedly abducting President Maduro. They also demanded the immediate release of President Maduro and his wife. The protest concluded with a unified demand for Venezuelan sovereignty and international accountability.
