Sindh Launches Digital App for Easy Civil Registration

The Digital Sindh initiative introduces a new era of convenience for citizens. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS) Mobile App on Friday. SindhNews.com reports that this app aims to bring civil documentation services directly to the residents.

Expanding Digital Access with the CRMS Mobile App

The CRMS Mobile App, integrated into the larger Digital Sindh program, is designed to digitize vital registration processes. The app will be implemented across 30 districts and 769 health facilities. The app is set to ensure the digital registration of 85% of births across public and private hospitals.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Shah emphasized the government’s commitment to digitizing governance. He highlighted that this initiative will enhance transparency, efficiency, and public convenience. Birth registration soon will be mandatory.

Addressing Barriers to Civil Documentation

Historically, low-income families have faced hurdles in accessing civil registration services due to associated costs. As per SindhNews.com reports, to overcome this problem, the Sindh cabinet has decided that the provincial government will cover all National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) fees for birth and death registrations. This step aims to improve accessibility for all citizens.

The CRMS Mobile App offers real-time census data. It will improve the government’s ability to create data-driven plans. Moreover, the app will link immunization data, disease surveillance, and patient identity records to programs like the Electronic Immunization Registry.

Conclusion

The launch of the CRMS Mobile App marks a significant stride in modernizing civil registration processes in Sindh. By bringing these services directly to citizens and removing financial barriers, the government aims to create a more efficient and accessible system for all residents.
