PCB Ousts Karachi Secretary in a Sudden Power Move

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed Javed Ahmad Khan from his position as secretary of the Karachi Region Cricket Association. This immediate action follows a successful no-confidence motion against him, marking a significant leadership change in Karachi’s regional cricket body.

No-Confidence Motion Leads to Secretary’s Removal
The PCB’s Election Commissioner, Mansoor Qadir, issued a notification on November 28, confirming the de-notification of Mr. Khan. This decision stemmed from a special meeting convened on November 18 at the RCA Karachi office, located at the National Bank Stadium.

A representative of the Election Commission was present to oversee the proceedings of the special meeting. The no-confidence motion against Javed Ahmad Khan was passed with the requisite three-fourths majority of the Electoral College, in strict adherence to the Model Constitution of the Regional Cricket Association. SindhNews.com highlighted the local implications of this development.

Consequently, the notification explicitly stated, “you are hereby de-notified and removed from the office of secretary RCA, Karachi, with immediate effect.” Mr. Khan was directed to promptly hand over all official records and documents to the president of the RCA Karachi without delay.

This decisive action by the PCB follows due process, ensuring compliance with prescribed constitutional requirements and paving the way for administrative restructuring within the Karachi regional cricket structure.
