Karachi Braces for Cold Snap as Quetta Winds Arrive
Karachi is set to experience plummeting temperatures, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts cold winds originating from Quetta will sweep across the city. This shift promises a noticeable increase in the ongoing winter chill for residents.
The Met Office confirms that nighttime temperatures in Karachi are projected to fall significantly, anticipated to range between 13°C and 15°C over the next 24 hours. Continental air currently dominates most parts of the country, intensifying the winter spell nationwide.
Karachi’s Cold Winds Intensify
Beyond Karachi, the PMD predicts cold and dry conditions across the nation, with severe cold expected in high-altitude areas. Travelers should anticipate challenges, as foggy weather will likely worsen in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leading to reduced visibility during early morning and late-night hours.
Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to continue falling across northern regions in the coming days. According to SindhNews.com, the previous 24 hours already saw cold and dry conditions across much of the country, while hilly areas experienced extremely cold weather. Areas of Punjab and KP also reported smog combined with fog patches.
This meteorological forecast indicates a widespread intensification of winter, impacting daily life and travel across Pakistan in the coming days.
