JUI-F Opposes Sindh Division, Issues Strong Warning

The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) voiced strong opposition to the perceived attempts to divide Sindh and criticized the current state of affairs in the province. This condemnation, along with other concerns, was brought to light at the “Shaheed-i-Islam Conference” hosted by the party’s Larkana chapter on Friday night, commemorating the 11th death anniversary of Dr. Khalid Mehmood Soomro, a former JUI-F Senator. SindhNews.com reported the event.

JUI-F’s Opposition to Division of Sindh and Other Concerns

The JUI-F leadership, including Engineer Ziaur Rehman, brother of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, expressed strong disapproval of the alleged moves towards the division of Sindh and the perceived role of certain entities in undermining democratic principles. Criticisms also included the illegal excavation of the Karoonjhar mountains and the Sindh government’s alleged failures in maintaining law and order, ensuring fair agricultural prices, and addressing corruption within the Sindh Public Service Commission.

Allegations of Election Rigging and Government Failings

Senior party figures termed the 2024 general elections as “massively rigged” and pledged to protect the rights of voters. JUI-F officials also condemned the state of katcha areas in Larkana and Sukkur divisions, claiming they were at the mercy of bandits. They also highlighted issues related to unemployment, healthcare, and education across the province. They accused the government of prioritizing personal gain over public welfare and of failing to develop the region.

Stance on Constitutional Amendment and Resources

Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro, JUI-F Sindh General Secretary, warned against any attempts to divide Sindh, emphasizing that Karachi is an integral part of the province. He also criticized the Sindh government for attempting to cut down and sell Karoonjhar stones. Other speakers, including Grand Democratic Alliance leader Moazzam Ali Abbasi, criticized the PPP for its performance over the last 17 years and alleged widespread corruption in Larkana’s development schemes.

Conclusion

The JUI-F’s conference served as a platform to condemn the alleged divisive moves, criticize the government’s performance, and reiterate the party’s commitment to protect Sindh’s rights and Islamic values.
