Sindh Pioneers New Era: First-Ever Teaching License Test Launched
The Teaching License Test, a groundbreaking initiative by the Government of Sindh, marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s educational landscape. For the very first time in the nation’s history, a systematic testing procedure is being introduced to ensure and enhance teacher competence, directly aiming to elevate the quality of education across the province. This strategic move underscores Sindh’s commitment to setting higher standards for its educators.
The Sindh Testing and Educational Development Authority (STEDA), in collaboration with SIBA Testing Services (STS), is spearheading this pioneering effort. Officials emphasize that this structured evaluation is crucial for fostering a more skilled and professional teaching workforce, which will ultimately benefit students statewide.
Eligibility for the Sindh Teaching License Test
Aspiring and existing educators are now invited to apply for the Teaching License Test, with specific criteria tailored for different categories. Pre-service teachers, those without a current government teaching job, must possess a B.Ed. (4 years/2.5 years) to be eligible for an Elementary Teaching License.
For in-service teachers, who are currently employed in a government teaching position, the requirements include a B.Ed. (4 years/2.5/1.5 years) or an M.Ed./M.A. (Education). Additionally, these candidates must demonstrate a minimum of three years of teaching experience and are required to upload their appointment order or latest salary slip during the application process. Importantly, there is no age limit for candidates applying.
